Family Involvement
Parent/Guardian Involvement Policy
Havasupai Elementary School strives to establish and maintain close partnerships between teachers, staff, administrators, and parents/guardians. When these dedicated educators and families form a partnership, students are equipped with all the tools and support needed for success. Adjustments, accommodations, and learning strategies will be introduced as the school community and the family work together.
We promote open and consistent two-way communication between Havasupai Elementary School and parents/guardians. Our proactive faculty and staff design the most effective improvement plans to serve your students. We encourage parents/guardians to actively participate in our improvement plans by contributing questions, comments, and suggestions to the school, and they will be forwarded to the Bureau of Indian Education for review.
Parent/guardian involvement strategies include activities and workshops designed to support students and help them avoid pitfalls like gangs, violence, drugs, and pregnancy. Havasupai Elementary School publishes the findings of its annual evaluation of the content and effectiveness of the Parent/Guardian Involvement Policy. Parents/guardians are welcome to review findings, design new strategies, and revise the Involvement Policy if necessary.
Our "School Plan for Parent/Guardian Involvement" is developed by our administration. As the involvement policy requires, Havasupai Elementary School has annual parent meetings. During these meetings, any questions from parents/guardians will be answered. Monthly meetings and quarterly newsletters are designed to keep families involved with the school community regarding issues like college, cyberbullying, health, life skills, and more.
