Welcome to the Havasupai Elementary School website. Our K-8 school is located in the beautiful Supai Village, just a one-hour hike from the world-famous Havasu Falls. The Havasupai people (Havasupai: Havsuw' Baaja) are a Native American Tribe that has lived in the Grand Canyon for at least 800 years. "Havasupai" means the people of the blue-green water.

Timeless Teachings in a Changing World

Havasupai Elementary School is dedicated to teaching with an evidence-based curriculum, using the College and Career Readiness Standards and Next Generation Science Standards. Students also participate in project-based learning and use technology and web-based tools to increase their academic proficiency in all subject areas.

Vision

At Havasupai Elementary School, we envision a vibrant and inclusive learning community where students, staff and the community come together to foster a love of learning, a sense of cultural pride, and a commitment to environmental stewardship.

Mission

The mission of Havasupai Elementary School is to create a nurturing and challenging environment that empowers students to reach their full potential, develops their critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and prepares them to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Building a Positive School Community

We serve our students within a safe and supportive school culture, ensuring they succeed academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is the foundation for school-wide expectations and support for students at Havasupai Elementary School. PBIS is a tiered framework to support students that rests on four pillars created in partnership with the community. The school values are safety, kindness, respect, and responsibility.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports create a predictable, equitable, and safe positive learning environment, promoting the well-being and success of students both in and out of school.

School Values:  Be Safe. Be Kind. Be Respectful. Be Responsible.

Strategic Transformation of Education Plan (STEP)

Havasupai Elementary School implemented the Strategic Transformation of Education Plan initiative – a digital learning portal with a blended learning approach. Our students can maximize this opportunity by accessing the digital learning portal with a 1:1 student-laptop usage ratio. This approach gives our students every advantage with integrated applications, such as personalized and assessment-based math and reading curriculum, Native language and culture educational programs, and accelerated learning strategies for our tailored instruction. Every one of our students benefits from dynamic teaching tools that use state-of-the-art resources. Havasupai Elementary School's team of dedicated educators is committed to the growth and development of your children - tomorrow's leaders.
